Writing Harmonies with Quote The Raven

This week SongTalk welcomed Newfoundland Americana/Folk duo Quote the Raven. Jordan Coaker and Kirsten Rodden-Clarke have been bewitching audiences with haunting harmonies and East-Coast meets Americana songwriting for a decade. Their album Golden Hour (2018) earned multiple nominations including the 2019 ECMA Rising Artist and the award for 2019 MusicNL’s Group of the year. After touring steadily for the next two years, the pair wrote with songwriters all across Canada and recorded their newest album Can’t Hold the Light with producer Chris Kirby in January of 2020. They delayed the release during the height of the pandemic, finally releasing their highly anticipated sophomore album on October 29, 2021 tow great acclaim. They were awarded 2021 MusicNL’s Group of the Year and 2021 MusicNL’s Folk Artist of the Year.

Their music has been streamed over one million times, had international film and television sync placements, and the first three singles off their newest album have landed on Canadian Country’s top 100 chart.
